EMPORIUM

India House is based on such a concept of a traditional Indian bazaar. It will house 15-20 shops selling products from all over India .These would range from Musical instruments, to furniture, clothes, books, to almost everything Indian under the roof. It would be loosely organised on the lines to encourage participation of various regional provinces of India, but will not rigidly follow this scheme.

CLOTHING & FABRICS

Textiles and garments have become extremely competitive combination of quality and prices. The specialty is Indian silk fines than Chinese and Thai silk, available in every colour and also in prints. It can be bought by meter, tailored into suits, shirts and dresses or purchased readymade as clothing such as blouses and shirts, accessories such as handkerchiefs and ties. Readymade clothing of good quality and very reasonable price will be available at India House.

JUTE WARE

There is a thriving antiques trade in India. Porcelain, wood and stone items are the most common. Modern Indian art will available in galleries of India House. There will be an abundance of craft work for decorative purposes; handpainted waxed paper, exquisitely dressed dolls, woodcarvings, weaving and embroidery.

FURNITURE & WOODWORK

Two furniture specialities are rattan and teak. There will be teak arm chairs and tables that are elaborately carved and wide variety of well-made rattan items ranging from tables to sofas, from cause to bar stools. Ornamental woodcarving are exquite plentiful and relatively inexpensive.

CARPETS & RUGS

Fine quality carpets and rugs will be available at India House. Hand knotted and Handmade in many design and quality, Persian to Tibetan weavers and designs.

GOLD & SILVERWARE

To begin at the expensive end, Gold Chains, Necklaces, bracelets, bangles, rings brooches, earrings and whatever else. The precious metal can be worked into for personal ornamentation emporium will be able to cater to this demand. Silver jewellery will be available in the form of boxes, cases teasets, statuettes and the like also very reasonable will be bronze in the form bowls, gongs, trays and such like brass lanterns, cabinets and so on.

PRECIOUS STONES & IVORY

MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Bamboo is one of the most important forest resources of India. North Eastern part of India produces 60 percent of bamboo products in India. Bamboo is generally grown as a living fence; the shoots are used as food, the mature stems as building material, for making handicrafts and host of other uses. Also the surplus bamboo shoots is sold in the local markets or preserved by steaming, pickling or drying for future consumption.
